Applications Open for Spring Break Career Trek to Atlanta

Not sure what you want to do yet—or curious about how your interests might translate into a career? The Duke Career Center (in collaboration with Duke LIFE) invites first-year and sophomore students to step outside the classroom and into the real world on our Career Trek to Atlanta, March 9–11.

This three-day immersive experience is designed to help you explore industries, discover career paths, and build confidence as you begin shaping your professional journey.

Why Atlanta?

Atlanta is a dynamic hub for business, sports, media, technology, and global brands. During the trek, students will visit a variety of organizations, including the Atlanta Hawks, Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, and The Georgia Aquarium. You’ll gain firsthand insight into how these companies operate—and the many roles that exist beyond what you may see on a job board.

What You’ll Gain from the Career Trek

  • Industry Exposure: Learn about careers across sports, corporate business, aviation, marketing, operations, and more
  • Career Clarity: Understand how majors, skills, and interests connect to real-world roles
  • Networking Opportunities: Connect with employers and Duke alumni eager to share advice and career insights
  • Professional Growth: Build confidence navigating professional spaces and conversations early in your Duke journey

No prior experience or clear career goals required, just curiosity and a willingness to explore.

Who Should Apply?

This trek is specifically designed for first-year and sophomore students who want to:

  • Explore career options early
  • Learn what’s possible with different majors
  • Build relationships and ask real questions about life after Duke
