June tends to be a month where people realize the year is moving faster than expected. I’m already feeling that way. If you’re still working toward a goal, that’s okay. Focus on the next step, not the entire journey.
✅ Diversify: If you’re looking for opportunities to build skills, there are both paid and unpaid options available. Explore resources like Forage, Parker Dewey, HubSpot’s Micro-Internships, and WayUp as a starting point.
✅ Commit: Don’t overthink it or build a laundry list of ideas. Pick one thing that gets you closer to your goal and take action. You’re focused on one idea at a time.
✅ Network: Find one person doing work you’re interested in or working at an organization you’d like to learn more about. Reach out and start the conversation. Just one person.
✅ Vent: This one may feel unconventional but consider asking someone you trust to listen while you talk through your frustrations and ideas. Tell them whether you’re looking for solutions or simply need space to process. Then decide on your next move.
Feel free to reach out if you have questions. Please remember that you’re never alone in this process. Consider booking an appointment with a Career Advisor or reach out to someone you trust for support. Every action item listed above can be supported by the incredible team at the Career Center.
P.S. Everything I share is focused on helping you explore opportunities in the United States but can apply elsewhere.
