There are two kinds of Interviews we’ll explore here, job interviews and informational interviews. It may sound strange to practice for interviews before you secure one, but that practice could be what sets you apart from other candidates. Practicing grows and strengthens your interviewing and conversational skills. It allows you to refine the structure of your questions and answers, connect your impact to the role, and grow your confidence
Job Interviews
Job interviews are opportunities for an employer to assess how your strengths, motivation, and ability to thrive in their environment align with a specific role to positively impact their organization. Practice with identifying your strengths and connecting them with job opportunities will help when you suddenly get called in for that first interview!

Informational Interviews
Informational interviews can be an important part of your job search. By talking to people, you may hear about roles before they are even posted. According to a Fall 2021 workshop with Steve Dalton on the 2-Hour Job Search, for each applicant hired from an online job posting, 12 referral candidates were hired. That means you are way more likely to land an internship or job if you talk to people! Building connections takes time, so we recommend you start early. By talking to people, you may gain access to hidden gem opportunities.
