Check in on desired opportunities

An important step in closing the search is to check in on desired opportunities. These opportunities could be ones that resulted in an interview or high priority applications you submitted. Your communication here shows employers how proactive you are in making an informed decision. It also helps you avoid the uncomfortable position of committing to an offer and then your dream job becoming a possibility a few days later.

✅  Communicate (phone or email) with employers you have interviewed with to ensure you understand their timeline for making a decision and reiterate your interest.

✅  Check-in with contacts at companies high on your target list where you submitted an application to inquire about their timeline for filling the position and reiterate your interest.

✅  Alert employer contacts if you anticipate a forthcoming offer and are still very interested in the opportunity at their organization. Their response may give insight to their process and likelihood of an offer, two great pieces of information for your decision-making process.
