From Duke to Startups

It’s easier than ever to build or join an early-stage company – but for most students, figuring out how to break in can feel impossible.
That’s Garrett Wolfe ’20 is excited to help make startups more accessible to Duke University students 🚀

On November 18, 2025, he will be hosting a virtual event for Duke students to connect with alumni who’ve built and scaled incredible startups.

We’ll feature a panel of founders and operators sharing what it’s really like to work at a startup, how to break in, and practical advice for navigating early-stage careers — plus breakout sessions for students to ask questions directly to alumni.

Our panelists include:
Vitor Olivier ’11 – Founder of Frontier Technologies (ex-CTO, Nubank)
Jeffery L. ’19 – Co-CEO and Co-founder of Assort Health
Brendan Quinlan ’20 – Director of Eng, Zillow
(CTO and Co-founder of Aryeo)

Grateful to be partnering with Duke Catalyst (s/o Andrew Ko and Nikhil Osuri), Duke Innovation and Entrepreneurship (Kelley Downey & Amy Ryan Linnane) as well as the broader alumni network.
