Position Summary
The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and delivers medically prescribed therapy to patients experiencing musculoskeletal, neurological, or orthopedic conditions. The goal is to restore function, reduce pain, and promote long-term independence.
Required Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
Licensed Physical Therapist in good standing in Michigan
BLS certification (required within 3 months of hire)
Valid Michigan driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance (required for Bronson at Home coverage)
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
Proficiency with PC/mobile device documentation
Physical & Mental Demands
Frequent standing, walking, and lifting (up to 20 lbs); occasional assistance with heavier patient transfers
Visual and mental concentration for extended documentation periods
Physical demands may involve some straining or repetitive movements
Clinical Responsibilities
Evaluate patient function using standardized assessments (ROM, strength, coordination, etc.)
Develop treatment plans and goals based on physician referrals
Provide individual and group therapy
Educate patients, families, and the broader community
Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, clinics, and discussions
Fabricate splints and assistive devices (if needed)
Contribute to program development and continuous improvement
Provide in-services and serve as a subject matter resource
Cross-train and provide coverage within other Rehab Services departments
Administrative Responsibilities
Timely documentation of evaluations, treatments, and progress in the EHR
Maintain accurate, legible, and complete records
Report documentation challenges to leadership
Participate in committees, task forces, and process improvement initiatives
Demonstrate strong time management and organizational skills
Supervise PTAs, rehab assistants, students, volunteers, and athletic trainers

Use of a personal vehicle for business requires:
Successful completion of an MVR check before start date
Valid and current auto insurance documentation
Ongoing submission of insurance updates
