mxdwn is an entertainment news site that brings its audience “all that matters in entertainment” across the board. As part of the mxdwn Games department, we strive to engage our audience with the most important, relevant, and varied content from an ever growing and evolving industry. We are currently looking for a passionate writer with strong and varied interests in video games.
mxdwn Games serves a wide audience of video game enthusiasts with a variety of tastes. The world of video games is a broad one, and, at mxdwn Games, we aspire to be a site that appeals to every corner and niche of that world. We want all different types of video game fans to come to mxdwn Games for all their gaming news and reviews. If it has an audience, you can expect to find it on mxdwn Games.
mxdwn Games Reviewers are expected to have a wide array of knowledge on multiple types of genres of games. You should have a passion for and knowledge of all types of games from mobile titles to the biggest games coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One. Also, you should have access to at least one major console (PS4, Xbox One, Switch), a mobile device, and a gaming capable PC to play and review a variety of games.
To be successful in this position, you must:
- Have a passion for journalism, writing, and video games.
- Have a competent understanding of the English language including: grammar, flow, structure, and spelling.
- Have adequate time to properly play and complete a variety of games and write cohesive reviews after completion.
- Be able to work professionally with all members of the Games department.
- Have access to the internet and your own personal computer.
Please note that this is an UNPAID position.The benefits of joining the mxdwn Games team are experience, exposure, and a foot in the door into the industry.
No prior experience is required. A degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, or similar fields are a plus. If selected, you will receive training on how to write and publish a review using our site’s content management system.
