Summary:
This is an entry-level role with a potential to grow into more senior functions that is focused on both client-facing and marketing & PR functions of a well-established fine art gallery in Wimberly, Texas. The position is split between client services and marketing and communications, supporting the gallery’s sales activities while working with the marketing manager to execute on innovative in-person and online outreach campaigns. It’s an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the fine art gallery field while taking on increasing levels of responsibility given ambitious growth plans for the company and an expanding artist roster.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Services & Sales Coordination (50%)
- Serve as a primary point of contact when Sales Director is away, providing excellent customer service in-person, via email, and over the phone
- Assist with sales transactions, inquiries, and follow-ups and general guest relations such as initial greeting and offering refreshments
- Coordinate order fulfillment (item packing, shipping, and/or in-home installation)
- Gallery presentation – ensure gallery remains organized and presentable and guest amenities (refreshments) are stocked and maintained
- Coordinate private viewings, appointments, and exhibition-related events
- General support for the Sales Director with administrative tasks, inventory management, and artist relations
Marketing, PR & Communications (50%)
- Assist with content creation and inventory management on the gallery’s website, social media, and online marketplace sales channels as well as email marketing campaigns
- Develop marketing materials, press releases, and promotional content for exhibitions and events
- Coordinate media outreach, press coverage, and influencer engagement
- Help plan and execute gallery events, including openings, exhibitions, artist talks, and VIP previews
- Assist with analysis and reporting of sales and related data in order to evaluate all sales, event and marketing efforts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Art History, Marketing, Communications, or a related fields. Advanced degrees preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional quotient (EQ)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and with minimal input or direction
- Proficiency in social media platforms, email marketing tools, and basic graphic design
- Experience working with and summarizing data and analytics
- Passion for fine art
