Position Description:

Summary:

  • Corporate staff position that supports boiler or turbine-generator equipment maintenance efforts at all generating stations. Provides complex engineering services and supervisory assistance, as necessary, for large scale projects and assignments. Maintains a detailed understanding of generating station equipment, systems, operations, and directs or participates in the execution of projects. Provides necessary skills to maintain availability and efficiency of station equipment. Provides supervision of less experienced engineering staff, hourly employees, and contractors.

Essential Job Tasks:

  • Performs or directs inspections of boiler or turbine-generator equipment, documents condition, and recommends corrective action. Directs contract crews in the maintenance and repairs of boiler or turbine-generator equipment.
  • Provides advanced engineering support for safe, reliable, and economic operation of generating units. Designs, plans, and coordinates large scale projects from inception through release for in-service operation.
  • Analyzes highly complex operations and maintenance boiler or turbine equipment problems and recommends solutions. Assists Operations, Maintenance and Technical Services departments by providing engineering support and supervision.
  • Provides support in the planning and budgeting of future O&M and capital projects in the boiler or turbine-generator areas. Assists management in the identification of priority items which have the largest impact on safety, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Completes outage reports, which document work performed on assigned projects within the boiler or turbine-generator area. Organizes and maintains historical records of inspections, repairs, replacements, and installations within the boiler or turbine-generator area. Utilizes software tools as appropriate to accomplish these tasks (4-SYTE, Excel, etc.).
  • Researches and documents boiler or turbine-generator OEM technical advisories or other similar technical bulletins. Recommends appropriate actions and provides support for implementation as directed by management.

*Will consider Sr. Engineer, Engineer III, Engineer II or Engineer I

Position Requirements:

Sr. Engineer

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited school +8 years experience required.
  • PE license required.
  • Must possess administrative skills with proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces, work at elevations above and below grade, and accommodate overtime.

Compensation Information:
$104,620 -$130,770 (min.-mid.)

Engineer III

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited school +5 years experience required.
  • FE/EIT license required.
  • Must possess administrative skills with proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces, work at elevations above and below grade, and accommodate overtime.

Compensation Information:
$93,830 – $117,290 (min.-mid.)

Engineer II

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited school +2 years experience required.
  • FE/EIT license preferred.
  • Must possess administrative skills with proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces, work at elevations above and below grade, and accommodate overtime.

Compensation Information:
$84,180 – $105,210 (min.-mid.)

Engineer I

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited school required.
  • FE/EIT license preferred.
  • Must possess administrative skills with proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to enter confined spaces, work at elevations above and below grade, and accommodate overtime.

Compensation Information:
$75,500 – $94,350 (min.-mid.)
