Duke Career Center – Virtual Interview Room Reservation Policy

The Duke Career Center is pleased to provide students with access to two private spaces for virtual or phone interviews with employers, graduate schools, or other professional opportunities. These rooms are designed to give students a quiet, professional environment to support your success.

Who Can Reserve

  • Currently enrolled Duke students (graduate or undergraduate that are served by the Duke Career Center).
  • Spaces are intended exclusively for scheduled interviews (not for studying, class, or casual meetings).

Availability

  • Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (not available during breaks or holidays)
  • Two rooms available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and must be reserved here.
  • The rooms are not accessible/available outside of these blocks of time.

Reservation Guidelines

  1. Advance Notice: Requests should be submitted at least two business days before the interview. Walk-ins will only be considered if the spaces are not reserved.
  2. Length of Reservation: Spaces may be reserved for 90 minutes blocks, once per day per student.
  3. How to Reserve: Complete the request on SpaceFinder. You will receive a confirmation email once your reservation is approved.
  4. Check-In: Students must check in at the Career Center front desk at the start of their reserved time. Please pay attention if you are reserving Pod 1 or Pod 2, both spaces are labeled.
  5. Technology: Please bring your own laptop, headphones, and any required materials. The Career Center provides Wi-Fi and a quiet space but does not supply equipment.
  6. Cancellations: If your interview is canceled or rescheduled, please cancel on SpaceFinder so another student can utilize the space.

Additional Notes

  • These rooms are intended to provide a professional setting for interviews only.
  • may result in loss of reservation privileges.
  • Utilization of the space outside of working hours or without approval; repeated no-shows or misuse of the spaces will also result in a loss of reservation privileges.
