First-Year and Sophomore Conversations Series for Career Exploration

The First-Year and Sophomore Conversations program is designed to connect first-year and sophomore undergraduates with Duke’s employer partners to encourage career exploration. These virtual sessions will be hosted throughout the spring semester and provide you with a casual environment where you can ask questions and learn about a variety of career paths. Please note that these are not interviews for internships or employment but rather the chance for you to speak candidly about many of the organizations that recruit Duke students.

First Year and Sophomore Conversations will be held in either one-on-one, small group (3-4 students) or large group formats based upon the request of the employer. Sessions range from 10 minute chats to longer presentations with Q&A. Sessions will be scheduled throughout the semester so keep checking Handshake for the most up-to-date schedule of employers.

Session registration through Handshake is required for all First-Year and Sophomore Conversations. Some sessions maybe limited in availability, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Students are encouraged to participate in one, some, or all sessions. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to learn and connect!
