Now that you have spent time exploring the Healthcare industry, it is time to reflect on what you have discovered. Reflection is two parts in this scenario: assessment and appreciation. First, assess the steps you have taken, then take time to appreciate the progress you have made.
Questions to Consider for Assessment:
Answer on your own and/or discuss with a mentor or adviser
- Based on your experience, research and/or knowledge, how would you describe what you learned about the Healthcare industry?
- What questions do you still have about your pathway?
- What do you value more, research, management, technology, or a clinical setting?
- How has your answer to the question: “Why healthcare?” changed?
- What areas of healthcare did you not explore thoroughly? Why is that?
- With the new information you have, what healthcare settings do you need to dive deeper into?
Potential Activities:
- Create a mind map to further refine and identify themes of what to explore next.
- Make an appointment with a career adviser to talk about your findings, identify common themes, patterns and possible next steps.
- View the online Professional Goal Setting course, develop and use your Individual Development Plan (IDP) described in the course and take your next steps.
