ARRAY is in pursuit of an intern who loves cinema, community cultivation, and coordination of events! Based at our Los Angeles campus in Historic Filipinotown, our Programming Intern will be part of an in-house team that coordinates activities and processes for ARRAY’s film-related screenings, conversations, and experiences. Dedicated to showcasing inclusive cinema, the Programming Team creates efficiencies across the entire organization related to curation, guest/audience services, event ticketing, logistics, environmental design, and overall usage of space at our creative campus. If you are familiar with the term “elbow grease” and know how to apply that to a work environment then ARRAY might be the place for you.
Primary Projects & Learning Opportunities:
- This internship will provide hands-on experience in managing the event operations of our dynamic, one-of-a-kind venue.
- Support programming team with management of our summer 2024 cinema and conversation series.
- Assist with theater / public venue operations and set-up duties for weekly programs.
- Work closely with programming leads to coordinate and communicate with vendors.
- Observe technical protocol for digital projection across screens at ARRAY’s creative campus.
- Use technology to learn how ticket inventory is accounted for; Track and communicate status of program RSVPS/tickets.
- Contribute to year-round program planning through research of potential film titles, filmmakers, professionals and scholars for program inclusion that connect to ARRAY’s mission.
- Assist with and learn about the creation of the organization’s promotion, community building efforts, and educational initiatives to gain a better understanding of the company as a whole.
Requirements and Desired Qualities:
Applicant must be a college undergraduate or graduate student with general film knowledge. Basic computer skills are a must. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.) with Mac and PC Computer proficiency. Working experience with editing software such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut is preferred but not required. Applicant must have reliable transportation.
