Accelerator
The Innovation and Digital Health Accelerator (IDHA) at Boston Children’s reinforces a commitment to, and investment in, pediatric innovation. We are combining our data, clinical expertise, and healthcare technology development experience, with leading worldwide industry partners – including start-ups – to transform healthcare. We work to surface, support, and accelerate Boston Children’s innovations to improve pediatric care. Companies in our portfolio have raised hundreds of millions of dollars, and our Accelerator team has successfully spun out five companies. The Accelerator is a cross-functional team that builds and partners with early-stage digital health companies. Through internal-facing innovation efforts, the Accelerator provides advisory and development services to innovators across the hospital with novel ideas for digital health technology. The most promising ideas with commercial potential are ultimately spun out as companies, or the technology is licensed to industry partners, while ideas that align more closely with enterprise-level priorities and have significant impact potential are launched within the hospital.
As part of the broader digital health community, the Accelerator maintains a close pulse on market trends and participates in other Accelerator programs, like MassChallenge and KidsX, advising promising health tech startups. Through this market-facing work, the Accelerator builds strong relationships with innovative startups, investors, and industry leaders alike.
