The Duke University Conference & Events team hires students as Conference Assistants (CAs) to support a variety of summer and conference programs that reside in the Duke residence halls over the summer. As a CA, you are the main liaison between summer programs and Duke. You will meet with the client about their housing and dining needs. This may involve checking and organizing keys, ordering cards and managing access, ordering parking, delivering linens, etc.
The CA position requires the CA to live in an assigned on campus housing for the duration of the summer. Conference Assistants can expect to work approximately 40 hours per week and receive compensation in the form of hourly pay and summer housing.
The job involves administrative work at a computer, but also a lot of moving around (sometimes outside) as you help participants check-in, find dining locations, and make deliveries to clients across campus.
Applicants must be enrolled in college courses for the Fall of 2024 but cannot be enrolled in classes during the summer.
