The RPM Innovation Center of Excellence is a state-of-the-art research and development facility that was designed to foster collaboration and harness the collective expertise found across our businesses. Features include liquid and powder application labs, resin and analytical labs, a sample production area, and a formulation lab, among other resources. It also serves as a destination for onsite customer training and application trials.
Job Description
In this internship, you will gain valuable experience and exposure to cross-functional teams working on new product development and optimization. You will have the opportunity to present your projects and experiences to the leadership team at the end of the summer. This internship is part of RPM Industrial Coatings Group’s succession planning and applicants should have a strong desire to work for RPM post-graduation. This position is in our Greensboro, NC Innovation Center of Excellence.
The Chemistry Internship is designed to give students hands-on exposure to the day-to-day operation of our research and development lab while developing your professional skills and providing you with knowledge of various frameworks. Alongside a designated project, the internship responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Perform testing of finish products and various samples including in-process samples, stability samples, and raw ingredient samples.
- Complete sample preparation within your scope of assigned tests.
- Perform laboratory experiments independently or with other team members as instructed.
- Maintain laboratory space, equipment, and inventory in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing a degree in Chemistry or closely related field with an expected graduation date between Fall 2024 and Spring 2026.
