Position Title: Community Engagement Intern (AKA Artistic Community Catalyst)
Organization: The KAW Project Inc.
Location: Remote/Virtual with Occasional In-Person Outreach to Artists/Arts Agencies in Intern’s Local Community
Duration: This is a 2-3 month internship position, with the possibility of extension based on performance and organizational needs.
Hours: This is a part-time internship, requiring approximately 10-15 hours a week (more if requested, w/ no more than 20 hours a week). The schedule is flexible to accommodate academic commitments.

The KAW Project Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering, breaking down barriers, and fostering positive spaces for tomorrow’s artists. Position Overview
The Community Engagement Intern at The KAW Project Inc. will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by sparking artistic connections and initiatives within the community, actively engaging with the community, building partnerships, and contributing to the organization’s outreach efforts. The intern will work closely with the Community Engagement Coordinator and other team members to create and implement strategies that enhance our impact and promote our mission.
Responsibilities
- Community Outreach: Actively engage with local communities, schools, and organizations to raise awareness about The KAW Project Inc. and its mission.
- Partnership Development: Identify and establish partnerships with schools, art institutions, and community organizations to expand the reach and impact of our programs.
- Content Creation: Contribute to the development of engaging content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels to keep the community informed and involved.
- Volunteer Management: Recruit and coordinate volunteers for events and projects, ensuring a positive and supportive experience for all participants.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in collecting and analyzing data related to community engagement activities, helping to measure the success and impact of our programs.
- Event Coordination: Assist in the planning and execution of community events, workshops, and exhibitions to promote the organization’s initiatives and create positive spaces for artists.
Qualifications
– Current enrollment in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program.
– Seeking college credit.
– Passion for the arts and a strong belief in the power of art to empower and inspire.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
– Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media platforms.
